Kenmore Boards - Dryer Control Boards

Once upon a time, back when life was simple, drying machines had mechanical timers with little metal contacts that were physically pushed together as the timer motor slowly turned through the timed dry progression. They were easy to understand and when a contact burned up, sometimes you could buy JUST the bad contact. Today things are different. Dryers don't come with simple, mechanical timers but with newfangled boards that control cycles with fragile circuits, chips and diodes. We have one of these new dryers at home but we only use 1 cycle- timed, heated dry. So just what did the manufacturers improve? Well, they upgraded the price of the replacement part when it dies! As a general rule, dryer electronic control boards cost more than the old-style mechanical dryer timers. We do our best to make replacement boards affordable but we are at the mercy of the manufacturers. Boo!
