The hardest part of doing a dryer repair imhop is just getting it pulled out and opened up so you can get to the part that needs to be replaced. There are only a few functional parts that fail in most dryers and these kits represent some popular groupings. Things like belts, idler pulleys, and drum rollers only have so many spins in them before bearings wear out and start squealing or drum rollers wear down and start rumbling or belts snap and... do nothing. Many people take the opportunity (while they've got the dryer open anyway) to go ahead and replace all the functional parts with a kit. There's nothing like fighting the sheet metal to put drum rollers on only to have the belt snap a month later!
