The housing piece that your refrigerator water filter fits into is under stress and it can develop a leak. When it does crack under the pressure things can get messy fast! When your water filter receptacle (or housing) cracks you can order a replacement from A-1 Appliance Parts. As always, it's best to use your refrigerator's model number to find the correct replacement filter housing. Alternatively, there may be a part number stamped somewhere on your old water filter housing- usually in very small numbers that are difficult to read.
